Who was Betty Gore?
Betty Gore was a Texas housewife and former grade school teacher.
She was married to Allan Gore and they had two daughters together - Alisa and Bethany.
Betty and her family were neighbors of Candy and Pat Montgomery.
Through attending church services and school functions together, the Gore family and the Montgomery family became close friends.

At some point, Allan and Candy initiated a secret affair behind Betty and Pat's backs.
Betty eventually caught on to the affair and a confrontation ensued after Candy paid her a visit pertaining to their children.
The day of the confrontation between the two former friends happened on June 13, 1980.
On Friday, June 13, the argument between Betty and Candy ended with the former school teacher being on the receiving end of 41 axe wounds.
Weeks later on June 27, Candy was arrested and charged with her murder.
Months later in October, Betty's assailant stood trial for her murder - which Candy admitted to.
After claiming she acted in self-defence, Candy was acquitted of all of the charges stemming from Betty's murder.
Who plays Betty Gore?
Betty and Candy's lives are chronicled in two separate TV series scheduled for 2022.
On Monday, May 9, Candy premiered on Hulu and retells their stories in a span of five episodes - which will conclude on Friday, May 13.
Coincidentally, Candy took Betty's life on Friday the 13 - though the month was June and not May.
Don't Look Up actress Melanie Lynskey portrays Betty while 7th Heaven star Jessica Biel plays the titular character.
The second program about the two Texas housewives is titled Love and Death and will be released on HBO Max.
American Horror Story alum Lily Rabe takes on the role of Betty, while Marvel actress Elizabeth Olsen portrays Candy.
