The incident occurred at around 8am this morning at the hotel situated on Notari Alemany in Calvià.
Initial reports from local media suggested the man may have been trying to balance on the rails of the hotel and possibly slipped.
He dropped more than 50ft to his death from the seventh floor during the early morning tragedy.
The unnamed Brit is believed to have died instantly and "there was nothing that could be done" to save him.

A receptionist at the South Beach Hotel where the incident occurred said: "It’s all very recent and we’re not making any comment at the moment."
The accommodation, overlooking Magaluf beach, is a popular spot for holidaymakers.
It boasts four pools, a spa with a sauna and Turkish baths, as well as an elegant beach club.
The tragedy comes after local government chiefs in the Balearic Islands and British diplomats urged UK holidaymakers not to fall foul of tough rules designed to stamp out drunken tourism.
