Father threatening legal action against Jersey's Education Department for blunder where youngster was told she was going to meet mother
A FURIOUS father is threatening legal action after social services pulled the wrong child from school - leading him to believe his daughter had been KIDNAPPED.
The four-year-old was taken from primary school by social workers and was told she was going to meet her mother - despite having not seen her since she was a few weeks old.
The blunder only came to light once they arrived at their offices in Jersey and the mum waiting there told them the youngster was not hers.
The Education Department on the channel island has not launched an internal investigation.
Speaking to the Jersey Evening Post, the father, who has not been named said: "She lives with me and does not know her mother.
"I did not get an apology from Social Services. I was raging about that."
The father said he had received a call from his sister - who had gone to pick up his daughter last Friday.
He was informed that she had "gone missing".

The father added that he heard the island's social services were involved - leaving him puzzled.
He said: "I was thinking how can they just take her?"
According to the father, the girl has been left traumatised and does not want to go back to school.
Jersey's education department said in a statement: "We are sorry for the distress caused and have apologised unreservedly to the child's father."
