Man fined just £20 after his housemates found ‘disgusting’ child pornography on his phone

Nathan Kozel was handed a £20 fine after his housemate's reported him to the police and he admitted his guilt in a Magistrates' court

A MAN'S collection of child pornography was unwittingly discovered by his housemate after she wanted to play a selfie prank on him.

Nathan Kozel was fined £20 after Kirsty-Ann Barr and her boyfriend reported him to the police.

The 18-year-old said she was with Kozel, 24, and her boyfriend in their bedroom, and reported her disappointment at the fine for the "horrible" images.

She told the  how they found the pictures. She said: "Nathan was drinking and he got quite drunk.

"He was sat in mine and my boyfriend's room.

"He got really drunk so we just thought for a laugh we would go and do selfies on his phone.

"We opened the phone up and found these photos of children. I was completely shocked. There were loads."

Kirsty-Ann, from Hull, East Yorkshire, said she saw images of young children posing and adults with them.

She called them "disgusting" and she and her boyfriend decided to film themselves scrolling through the images, incase Kozel then deleted them.

Kozel appeared at Hull Magistrates' Court where he admitted six charges of making an indecent image of a child, one charge of possession of indecent photographs of children, two charges of possessing prohibited images of children.

He also pleaded guilty to two charges of possessing an extreme photographic image of a person performing a sex act with a horse.

He was given a £20 fine and ordered to pay £60 surcharge, as well as made subject to a sexual harm prevention order.
