Caroline Crouch murder – Seven chilling signs that exposed monster husband’s lies as he fooled world in TV interviews

CAROLINE Crouch’s monster husband brazenly played the part of a grieving widower before he eventually admitted killing her.

The lies of Babis Anagnostopoulos, 34, eventually caught up with him after chilling clues emerged that have now led to him being jailed for life for murdering Brit wife Caroline.

Anagnostopoulos suffocated his 20-year-old wife to death at their home in Greece and initially claimed a criminal gang had broken in and tied the couple up before stealing cash and jewellery.

Police found Caroline's lifeless body on a bed next to her crying 11-month old daughter Lydia - while evil Anagnostopoulos had handcuffed himself to the floor.

From the moment officers peeled the duct tape from his eyes and mouth, he began spewing a twisted tale to save his own skin.

The killer claimed his family had been targeted by an Albanian gang and pretended he didn't know his wife was dead - even poking her body and asking: "Honey are you okay?"

In a desperate bid to fool authorities, he led them on a wild goose chase with an outrageous web of lies by inventing fake suspects.

But from the beginning, there were clues in his behaviour that betrayed his story as a sham.

Body language expert Judi James pinpointed giveaways as Anagnostopoulos spoke to the world about the horror.

While reliving the supposed robbery, Babis "promoted himself as the heroic avenger of his wife’s death".

But as he divulges more information about the fateful night "he performs more eye cut-offs…rather than straight ahead" which she said is a typical tactic of concealment

The master manipulator is also seen blinking "rapidly and quite intensely" - a hint to his impatience or anger

She also said his masked slipped as reporters press him about the moment he first knew his wife was dead.

Judi explains how Babis pauses as he makes his way to a waiting car he discusses the alleged trauma of the break-in, he continues to speak at speed but with no apparent change of tone.

He is even observed shrugging his shoulders - a notable indicator of a lack of care.

Anagnostopoulos’ sick cover-up was also rumbled after police pulled together a stack of digital evidence that disrupted his timeline of the alleged botched robbery.

They found that Anagnostopoulos had in fact been active during the time he was supposedly tied up and Caroline's heart had stopped beating hours before he claimed the gang had broken in.

Cops revealed the helicopter pilot had an app on his phone to measure his steps.

This showed repeated movement from the attic to the basement of the home at the time he claimed to be bound by the raiders, at around 5am on May 11.

He also faked a burglary scene including a smashed window and a Monopoly set from where he said the "gang" had stolen £13,000.

His daughter's toys are also on the floor in the faked crime scene created by Anagnostopoulos.

Detectives also revealed the security camera had been tampered with earlier than the pilot claimed, the couple had been arguing on that fateful night, and Caroline had tried to book a hotel to flee.

As he became the prime suspect, Ccps allowed him to attend a memorial service in Caroline's honour in order for him not to "take fright"

He told her loved ones he had been asked to identify "a new suspect" but it was in fact him cops wanted to speak to and under questioning his story crumbled.
