Baltimore County fire triggers EXPLOSION and leaves 7 hurt after distressed suspect ‘started blaze inside nail salon’
SEVEN people were hurt on Monday night after a man allegedly set fire to a nail salon, triggering an explosion.
The blaze at the Baltimore strip mall sent six emergency personnel to the hospital as firefighters warned of a hazmat situation at the property.
The fire was reported in the 1700 block of Rolling Road in Windsor Mill, Maryland, at around 9.30pm.
A spokesman for the fire department said emergency crews were called to Libra Nails and Spa following a report that a former employee was on the premises.
County police and fire rescue officials told that a man at the scene became distraught while talking to responding officers.
When cops and EMTs were inside the business, the man reportedly ran to the back of the building. The explosion happened moments later.

First responders said the "minor" explosion caused injuries to four police officers, two EMS workers, and the civilian.
People were urged to avoid the area before the Baltimore County Fire Department was able to get control of the flames.
The fire department warned that the fire may have been fueled by hazardous materials in the area.
“Minor explosion has sent 4 police officers, 2 EMS providers and 1 civilian to the hospitals,” by the fire department said.

Six of the injured emergency workers were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The seventh victim, believed to be a former employee of the nail salon, had life-threatening injuries, local media indicated.
Other stores in the area include a Jiu-Jitsu academy, a Chinese restaurant, and a Halal grill restaurant.
Police were still investigating late Monday night.
