Lindsay Lohan moved to tears meeting refugees at Turkish hospital after they’ve fled horrors of war torn Syria
The actress played the humanitarian chatting with migrants from Aleppo
THEY went through hell fleeing their war torn country, and after arriving in Turkey a group of Syrian refugees got to meet none other than Hollywood star Lindsay Lohan.
While some might say it was the last person they needed or wanted to see, they none the less appeared quite happy to meet the actress.
Lohan, 30, was clearly moved by her experience, brought to tears as she chatted with Syrian families.
Playing the humanitarian, she visited a group of migrants in their home, and also did a meet and greet at a hospital built for refugees from the war torn Aleppo, in the Sultanbeyli suburb of Istanbul.
Accompanied by Turkey's Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Abdurrahim Boynukalin, the Mean Girls star played with the children, hugged a little girl and appeared very interested in hearing about their experiences and plight.
And while some of those she met appeared slightly bemused to be meeting the actress during her visit, which took place on Monday, they none the less managed a smile as she spent time with them.
No doubt taking a tip or two from Angelina Jolie, who has also highlighted the plight of Syrian refugees, she spent time learning about their difficult and horrendous experiences.
It appears to be a cause close to her heart - she took to Instagram ahead the visit and posted a photo of the Turkish flag, captioning the image: "Let us start paying some attention" and hash-tagged the phrase "Start helping the Refugees in Syria, as promised."
Lohan offered to volunteer at the medical centre, which only employs Syrian doctors.
It no doubt gave the actress some time to reflect on her own troubles, and possibly put them in perspective.
It was just days ago she claimed she was forced to buy her own engagement ring because her former fiance, Russian toyboy Egor Tarabasov, "had no money."
Appearing on Russian TV's Channel One she said: “He does not have money.
“What could I do?
“We lived in my home.
“I paid for everything.
“His father paid for many things, but mainly I was paying."

According to the, the actress went on to reveal that she even paid for her £220,000 engagement ring ‘ to spare his embarrassment’.
During the interview the famous red head also claimed her ex had beaten her and alleged that he had left her with bruises – something which he vehemently denies.
She said: “I feared that Egor may splash acid in my face.
“I went to bed and he broke into my house.

It was claimed she was paid £650,000 by the broadcaster for the tell-all interview.
