In the footage, the victim, who did not want to be named, can be seen to be slapped while surrounded by school children on their way home on September 16.

The attacker, who is believed to be the same age, then grabs the 15-year-old's fair, pulling her around the bus.

Parts of the video are unclear as the assault is blocked by other pupils on the packed bus, but the girl was left with her nose bleeding and later noticed some of hair had been pulled out.

The mother said: "When I first saw the video, it made me sick.

"I was already angry when I saw my daughter come home with her nose bleeding and her hair all over the place. Then when I saw the video, the incident was even worse than I thought."

She said she struggled to watch the footage, saying: "It is so dangerous dragging someone on bus while it is moving. Fortunately she was not injured but anything could have happened.

"The whole ordeal has been very stressful for her and it is still affecting her."

Footage  of the incident was sent to the girl by another pupil, which she then showed to her mother.

The mother said that the attacker and friends had been calling their victim names.

She said that her daughter had been on the phone at the time of the attack with one of the students saying: "oh, she is ringing her mummy".

The girl then tries to stand up for herself, saying: "and what does it have to do with you" when she is struck down.

The crowd of students then begin to yell and scream.

The video was posted online where it was seen more than 98,000 times before it was taken down.
