Boris Johnson slams French cops who tear-gassed Liverpool fans at Champions League final
BORIS Johnson yesterday slammed French cops who tear-gassed Liverpool fans at the Champions League final.
The PM’s spokesman said the scenes in Paris were “deeply upsetting and disturbing”.
And he said Mr Johnson was joining calls for an official investigation — and for the results to be made public.
He spoke out after French ministers continued to echo the dubious Uefa line that masses of Liverpool fans arrived at the Stade de France with fake tickets, or without tickets at all.
Interior minister Gérald Darmanin put the number between 30,000 and 40,000 and talked about “industrial-scale” ticket fraud.
He claimed: “Pre-filtering by the Stade de France and the French Football Federation saw that 70 per cent of tickets were fake coming into the stadium.”

Sports Minister Amelie Oudea-Castera agreed: “What happened, first of all, was this mass gathering of the British supporters of the Liverpool club, without tickets, or with fake tickets.”
But the PM’s spokesman said: “We know many Liverpool fans travelled to Paris in good time.
"We have seen reports that even fans given authorised tickets from the club were not able to gain entry.”
