AN OBSESSED collector has revealed he splashed out more than £15,000 on a life-size model of a Japanese schoolgirl.
The 5ft 2 figurine is an exact replica of one of the country's most watched anime and manga characters, Megumi Kato.
In her cartoon form, Megumi is a 16-year-old schoolgirl and one of the main characters in a series of books and animations called 'Saekano' or 'How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend.'
Crafted for anime-makers Aniplex, only 10 of the figures have been made.
Would-be owners had to apply to receive one of the models and only the first names out of the ballot were allowed to buy.
One proud owner tweeted photos showing the figurine being delivered to his home and taking pride of place in his trophy room.

The model - wearing a sailor-style, mini-skirted school uniform - was also shown in the owner's sitting room.
The astonishingly life-like model - which costs 1,980,000 Japanese Yen - £15,147 - has become a massive online hit with other fans.
One said: "OMG I wish I could have her waiting for me in my house like that!"
Another added: "I envy you so much!"
One more commented: "It’s my dream to have a room set aside just for figurines - yours looks like a museum!"
