Parents put on high alert after ‘couple ask boy, 10, to get in their car outside school’

An elderly man and a woman in a maroon car are said to have accosted the youngster outside his primary school in Hull

PARENTS have been put on child snatcher alert after claims a ten-year-old boy was approached outside a primary school by a couple who asked him to get into their car.

Wold Academy primary school in Hull has sent a text message to parents today urging them to "speak with" their children so they are aware of the threat.

Reports claimed the boy was approached by an elderly man and woman in a maroon car outside the school this morning.

Humberside Police confirmed: "Police have been called today by Wold Primary School reporting an alleged accosting.
"A ten-year-old boy claims that he was beckoned to a maroon coloured car by an elderly man and woman and asked to get in the vehicle on Hove Road at some point between 8.20am and 8.30am.

"He refused and ran off. The boy was not touched or hurt in the incident.

"It is unclear at this time what happened and we will be speaking to the school shortly to establish the full circumstances."

In the text message, sent at 10.30am, the school said: "We have received reports that a child was approached by two people in a car outside Wold Academy this morning. Please be alert and speak with your child."

Parents have already taken to social media to share the warning, .

One parent said on Facebook: "This is getting scary now, couldn't think of anything worse than your child being taken away from you."

Another said the warning from the school was "shocking."
