What happened at South Street Philadelphia shooting?

On the night of Saturday 4, June 2022, there were reports of gunfire on South Street Philadelphia.

According to , police officers who were first on the scene said they saw multiple people wielding guns shooting into a crowd of people on that street.

Reports confirmed that two women and a man died after being shot several times.

Additionally, nine victims were taken to the Thomas Jefferson hospital in the city where one was pronounced dead by medics.

In total, the shooting killed three people and injured another 11 on Saturday

As of the time of writing, authorities haven’t released the identity of any potential suspects.

In an interview with the , a witness named Joe Smith stated: "Once it started I didn't think it was going to stop.

: "The terrible crimes last night on South Street tell our Pennsylvania legislators it’s time for real action.

"Boycott NRA lobbyists, boycott NRA donations, and bring real common-sense gun regulation to Pennsylvania. Now."

Inspector D.F Pace said: "But, the officer was able to get that individual to drop his gun and flee at this time.

"You can imagine there were hundreds of individuals just enjoying South Street, as they do every single weekend when this shooting broke out."

State Rep. Mary Isaacson also stated: “My heart bleeds for those that aren’t.

"I’m a mother of two kids, 18 and 20, who are coming of age in a society where we are having such disregard for human life. We should not live with this."
