COPS have launched a probe after human remains were found in woodland.

A walker made the grim discovery near the Cuckoo's Nook Nature Reserve in Walsall, West Midlands, just before 4pm yesterday.

Forensic searches are now taking place at the scene, and the area has been cordoned off by police.

The death is currently being treated as "unexplained.”

However, detectives say they're pursuing all lines of enquiry.

The officers' priority is to identify the body found at the beauty spot as the investigation into the mystery continues.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police said: "We’re investigating the discovery of what is believed to be human remains in woodland near Cuckoos Nook, Sutton Road, Walsall shortly before 4pm yesterday.

"The area has been cordoned off for the forensic recovery of the remains and further searches to be carried out.

"The discovery is being treated as unexplained at this moment in time, and we have referred this incident to the coroner."
