Couple arrested on suspicion of murder after baby girl found unresponsive on London bus dies
A MAN and woman have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a baby girl found unresponsive on a bus.
The three-month-old baby girl was taken to a hospital after emergency services were called to a bus in Stratford, east London, but later died.
London Ambulance Service alerted police at 10.20am on Wednesday.
A 27-year-old woman was arrested by officers at the hospital and a 52-year-old man was arrested at an east London address later in the day.
A post-mortem is due to take place on Friday.
Detective Chief Inspector Gary Holmes said: "The death of any child is tragic and we would appeal for anyone with information to please come forward as soon as possible to help with our enquiries."
