THE decomposed bodies of two sisters have been discovered inside a Sydney flat after concerns were raised for their welfare.
The remains of the two victims, thought to be in their mid-20s, were found in an apartment block in the New South Wales city of Canterbury, Australia in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
A building manager on site called authorities after noticing a build-up of mail and parcels at their front door.
When police arrived, they discovered the two women, who are believed to be sisters, in a “somewhat decomposed” state.
Detectives confirmed that both women were found in separate bedrooms and had been there for “some time.”
Neither victim has yet to be formally identified.

NSW Police Detective Inspector Claudia Allcroft, who is leading the investigation, said the deaths are being treated as suspicious.
“It's a very tragic scene when we go to any deceased persons, let alone two sisters who are deceased and unfortunately, at this stage, we don't know why,” she said.
Police are said to be scouring CCTV footage for leads as forensics concluded that the apartment showed no signs of forced entry.
Early examinations of the bodies also found no signs of injury.

While another neighbour added: “It's sort of scary to know this is what's happening in your own neighbourhood, we hear sirens go up and down all the time... and then to be so close to home, it's quite scary.”
A post mortem will be conducted to determine how the women died as police explore all avenues.
They have since appealed for information from the public for information regarding the mystery deaths.
