Harmony Montgomery updates — New search underway in wetlands months after father Adam was indicted for daughter’s murder
LAW enforcement officers are conducting a search as part of their investigation into the passing of Harmony Montgomery, 5, in Revere, Massachusetts.
Harmony was reported missing to the authorities in November 2021. Police said in August that they suspected she died in Manchester, , in the first few days of December 2019.
There is no sign of her remains.
The missing child's father, Adam Montgomery, was indicted in January on charges of second-degree murder.
According to a press statement from the Office of the New Hampshire Attorney General, the Massachusetts State Police and the Manchester Police Department of New Hampshire were among the law enforcement agencies participating in the search on Friday.
along Highway 107 in Revere were being searched by 18 troopers, K-9, and drone units, according to the Massachusetts State Police. The search began just after 9am on Friday.
"Due to the ongoing investigation, no additional information will be released at this time," per the statement. "Officials caution against any speculation related to the potential results of this search."

October 2022
In connection with this daughter's abduction and possible demise, Adam Montgomery was charged by New Hampshire Attorney General John Formella.
On Monday, a news conference was held to discuss the charges, which include second-degree murder, fabricating evidence, mistreatment of a body, and interfering with witnesses. Harmony Montgomery has been missing for for three years.
Montgomery is charged with killing the child by hitting her in the head on December 7, 2019, with "extreme indifference to the value of human life."

January 12, 2022- June 14, 2022
Kayla Montgomery was charged with further offenses, while one allegation of felony welfare fraud has been reduced to a misdemeanor and a charge of felony theft by deceit has been added, according to prosecutors.
At 644 Union Street in Manchester, investigators conduct a search of a residence formerly occupied by Adam and Kayla Montgomery.
They are shown bringing out evidence, which includes a full refrigerator, and looking inside an outdoor manhole cover.
The current renter, who will only go by the name "Ginger," told that detectives removed the refrigerator and had new doorknobs and faucets installed in their place.
She said that they carefully examined the pipes in the bathroom's walls and the bedroom closet as well.

January 2, 2022-January 6, 2022
Montgomery is taken into custody by the police on suspicion of child welfare violations and an alleged black eye from 2019.
Montgomery consents to be detained in preventative custody at the Hillsborough County House of Justice and waives his right to a bail hearing.
He was awarded a public defender by the judge.
The Manchester Police have filed charges for alleged benefit fraud against Kayla Montgomery, Adam Montgomery's ex-wife.
Despite not having seen Harmony since approximately November 2019, she is suspected of continuing to receive food stamps on her behalf until June 2021.

December 31, 2021
Kayla Montgomery, the estranged spouse of Adam Montgomery, claims to have last seen Harmony around the end of 2019 when her husband claimed to be dropping her off with Sorey, Harmony's biological mother.
The three other children of the parents were "all presently accounted for," according to the police.
According to Kayla Montgomery, Harmony had a black eye in 2019 and her husband reportedly blamed one of their other kids for it.
When being questioned by police, Montgomery allegedly offered them conflicting information, including claiming to have just spoken to Harmony before retracting to explain that they last spoke around Thanksgiving 2019.
Harmony is officially listed as missing by the Manchester Police Department, who also appeal for assistance from the general public.

December 2021
Police are informed by the New Hampshire Division of Children, Youth, and Family that Harmony cannot be found.
Police formally launch a probe into her whereabouts as a consequence and learn that she "had not been physically seen since October/November 2019." The entire time, she was supposed to be under her father's supervision.
Uncle of Adam Montgomery, Kevin Montgomery, claimed to have seen Harmony with a black eye around the time of the alleged 2019 attack. He informed the authorities that after her younger brother started weeping, his nephew said, "I bashed her around the house as punishment."
Also, he admitted to authorities that he hadn't seen Harmony or his nephew since that event a few months prior.

September 2021
According to Johnathon Miller, Sorey informed him that she had gotten in touch with one of Montgomery's aunts, who informed her that Harmony hadn't been seen since some time in 2019.
She allegedly spotted Montgomery shortly after putting many of his possessions on Facebook Marketplace.
The Millers try unsuccessfully to get in touch with Adam and Kayla Montgomery via Facebook.
News anchor for Boston 25 located in Washington, Blair Miller, contacts the Division for Children, Youth, and Families of New Hampshire.
Later, Sorey informs them that she has received a response from the agency.

June 2021
The Millers are still sending images of Jamison to Sorey and enquiring about her location as Harmony's seventh birthday approaches.
She claims to have woken up weeping on the child's birthday and expressed her wish for her ex to quit avoiding her.
Harmony's birthday was honored by the Millers with cupcakes and "Happy Birthday," despite the fact that they had never met her before.
July 2021
Adam Montgomery allegedly knocked on the window of his mother-in-law's house where his now-divorced wife and their kids were taking refuge.
The mother-in-law applied for a restraining order when her boyfriend allegedly said he discovered a steak knife outside the same window.
Johnathon Miller claims that Sorey told the Millers that she finally located Montgomery, but that he instantly banned her on social media.

Harmony, who is blind in one eye and visually handicapped, reportedly received a blow to the face from Adam Montgomery, leaving her with a black eye.
However, an arrest document published on January 5, 2022, claims that it took more than two years for investigators to learn about this.
In December 2021, his uncle Kevin Montgomery reported the incident to the police.
According to the affidavit, Adam Montgomery's wife Kayla and his brother Michael were at least two additional family members who were aware of the black eye.

September 2014
After an armed robbery during which he reportedly shot a man in the head, Adam Montgomery pleaded guilty to counts of larceny, carrying a handgun without a license, and firing a firearm within 500 feet of a building.
At this point, Harmony is about four years old. According to the Massachusetts Essex County Attorney's Office, Montgomery will serve an 18-month prison term.
Investigators prompted search
Friday's search is taking place in the wetlands along Route 107, according to Massachusetts State Police spokesperson David Procopio, per local Boston ABC News outlet .
Procopio told the outlet that the search had been "prompted by information developed by investigators."
About 18 officers, a Massachusetts State Police Drone Unit, and K-9 teams are on the scene.
New search underway in connection to Harmony's death
Police in Massachusetts have begun searching a location on Friday in connection with the Harmony Montgomery investigation.
Harmony, 5, vanished in 2019, and authorities are scouring for clues in the city of Revere, six miles outside of Boston.
Mother’s heartbroken plea
Crystal Sorey shared a video with her reaction to Thursday’s update about Harmony’s disappearance where she begs for information on her daughter’s murder.
“Tell us where her remains are so we can bring her home and she can lay to rest,” Crystal says tearfully in the video shared by .
“She might be passed away but she’s not resting because she’s not home.
“I just want to bring her home where she belongs.”
Governor speaks up
New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu released a written statement in response to the update regarding Harmony’s case.
The governor says: “Our greatest fears were confirmed today, and now our efforts shift to ensuring justice for Harmony.
“I commend the tireless dedication of the law enforcement community for their unwavering efforts and commitment to transparency and recognize they have much work ahead of them.
“We have come to know Harmony through her bright smiles in her photos and she will not be soon be forgotten by her fellow Granite Staters.”

At Thursday’s press conference, Manchester Police Chief Allen Aldenberg encouraged residents to step up if they might have seen anything that could assist authorities in the homicide investigation.
“As I stated from the beginning of this investigation and throughout, every effort has been made to bring Harmony home to her family,” Aldenberg said.
“Our commitment to bringing Harmony home has not wavered, nor will it.
“The time is now. Time to step up and do the right thing. Make a call to that tip line or contact the Manchester Police Department any way you see fit.
“Harmony is a sweet, innocent child who deserves to be brought home to her family and her friends.”

Harmony was enrolled in Massachusetts school
Although Harmony was reportedly last seen at the home in Manchester, New Hampshire, she was last enrolled in school in a different state.
According to police, she was last enrolled in school in Massachusetts in 2019.
New Hampshire officials have released no information about concurrent investigations in Massachusetts.
New details about dad’s arrest revealed
Adam Montgomery’s alleged criminal actions progressed on Union St, where he and Kayla lived for a period before they split, according to a police report obtained by The Sun.
There the dad, who is currently in prison, allegedly stalked Kayla in March 2021 and was ultimately arrested.
The arrest report mentioned three children in the house. All their information except ages was redacted, but none matched Harmony’s age.
The report also said Kayla told police that she lost her key so she kept her back door and back window of the home open.
Police swept through the house searching for Adam and didn’t find him or anything out of the ordinary.
Investigation was previously focused on another home
Harmony’s father Adam and his estranged wife Kayla cut off all communications with their families – and a series of errors by Child Protective Services left Harmony’s mom and family in the dark.
Until Tuesday, the investigation focused on a home on Gilford St in Manchester, New Hampshire, where Harmony was last seen.
Officers responded to the home at least 16 times between January 2019 and January 2020, according to the police reports obtained by The Sun through a public records request.
Family gave update on Harmony’s birthday
Harmony Montgomery’s eighth birthday was on June 7, and her five-year-old brother Jamison celebrated with his family by eating cake and letting pink balloons fly into the sky.
Jamison, his adopted dads Blair and Johnathon Miller, and older brothers haven’t given up hope that she’s alive and they’ll be reunited.
Blair Miller shared a video of Jamison smiling in front of a cake that read, “Happy Birthday Harmony” in pink icing.
In the video, Jameson said, “Harmony, I hope you have a good birthday, big sister,” and blew her a kiss.
Then they released eight pink balloons with messages on them telling her how much they love her.
