Harmony Montgomery updates — New search underway in wetlands months after father Adam was indicted for daughter’s murder


LAW enforcement officers are conducting a search as part of their investigation into the passing of Harmony Montgomery, 5, in Revere, Massachusetts.

Harmony was reported missing to the authorities in November 2021. Police said in August that they suspected she died in Manchester, , in the first few days of December 2019.

There is no sign of her remains.

The missing child's father, Adam Montgomery, was indicted in January on charges of second-degree murder.

According to a press statement from the Office of the New Hampshire Attorney General, the Massachusetts State Police and the Manchester Police Department of New Hampshire were among the law enforcement agencies participating in the search on Friday.

along Highway 107 in Revere were being searched by 18 troopers, K-9, and drone units, according to the Massachusetts State Police. The search began just after 9am on Friday.

"Due to the ongoing investigation, no additional information will be released at this time," per the statement. "Officials caution against any speculation related to the potential results of this search."

  • Harmony's description

    Harmony has been described as being 4 feet tall and weighing around 50 pounds.

    She has blonde hair and blue eyes and wears glasses.

    She is also blind in her right eye.

  • 'I think he sold her'

    She then went on to explain what she thinks happened to her daughter.

    Sorey told Entin: "I think he sold her because the same week that they're saying this happened — the day after Thanksgiving to December 6 — was the week after my son legally got adopted on the news."

    "He knew what my son looked like. ... He saw that and I really think that's connected," she added."

    "I think he got that idea from seeing that and was like 'Oh, I can do it illegally.'"

  • 'He used to choke me'

    The mom of the missing New Hampshire girl claimed Adam Montgomery used to be violent, when she spoke to NewsNationNow's .

    When Entin asked Sorey if she had ever seen her ex be violent, she said: "Yeah, when I was in a relationship with him. He used to choke me.

    "[When] I was pregnant with her he choked me."

  • Makeshift memorial growing

    People are placing candles, stuffed animals, and other objects near where investigators are searching for evidence in the disappearance of Harmony.

  • Harmony Montgomery not found

    The missing eight-year-old is still missing, as of 6pm ET Tuesday.

    Authorities are still searching for evidence in connection to the girl's disappearance.

  • Investigators remain on scene

    "In order to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation, officials will not be disclosing what items are being sought and what, if any, evidence is located," said the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office.

    NewNation reporter Brian Entin that investigators will remain on the scene into the night.

  • Refrigerator removed from home

    The FBI has removed a refrigerator from the home where Harmony's father and stepmother once lived.

    The search is reportedly connected to the eight-year-old's disappearance.

  • Jamison's dad says Harmony is 'welcome' in their home

    Blair Miller, adopted father of Harmony Montgomery's little brother Jamison, tweeted that the family is grateful for the police department's persistence in this case.

    "We hope this brings answers and if Harmony is still with us she's welcome in our home," Blair tweeted.

  • Harmony's family was living in cars

    According to the New Hampshire Attorney General John Formella, police learned that Adam and Kayla Montgomery lived with Harmony and two other children when they were evicted on November 27, 2019.

    Multiple people reported seeing Harmony with Adam and Kayla in the following days, but between December 6 and 10, they had only their two common children with them and not Harmony.

    "Witnesses have reported that during that time, Adam, Kayla, and the children were homeless and living out of cars, possibly in the North End of Manchester," the attorney general's office said in a release.

    One of the cars was a silver 2010 Chrysler Sebring, and the other a dark blue 2006 Audi S4.

  • Hope is 'ripped away' from Harmony's brother

    Johnathon Miller, adopted father of Harmony Montgomery’s little brother Jamison, tweeted that the little boy's hope is being "ripped away" from him today.

    He recounts a heartbreaking story of the boy expecting Harmony to arrive after a doorbell rang just days ago.

    "The excitement he had in his eyes," the father tweeted.

  • Sewer being searched

    According to reports from the scene by WMUR9, investigators are sending a camera down into a sewer hole.

    FBI agents are reportedly a video feed from a nearby truck as the camera moves underground.

  • Harmony's extended family loses hope

    Johnathon Miller, adopted father of Harmony Montgomery's little brother Jamison, told that officials warned the family that the outcome might not be what they had hoped.

    "We have been told by officials that this probably will not have a good outcome or not the outcome we had hoped for, for Jamison and Harmony to be reunited together," Miller told the outlet.

    "We have always held onto hope that Jamison and Harmony could be together again, but today that hope feels like it’s being ripped away from us, especially Jamison."

    In March, the reward for information on Harmony Montgomery's disappearance grew to $150k.

  • Chief shares hope of ending search

    According to WMUR9 reporter Amy Coveno, Police Chief Allen Aldenberg left the scene and briefly commented: "hopefully we'll be done today."

  • Police asked that public 'respect privacy'

    In a Facebook announcement ahead of today's investigation, Manchester Police requested the public's assistance in finding Harmony Montgomery.

    The also asked the public to "respect the privacy of the current residents of 644 Union Street and to stay off of their property as the investigation continues."

  • 'That's my Harmony'

    The young girl's little brother has been searching for his missing sister in a park, the boy's adopted dads exclusively told The US Sun.

    Harmony used to take care of her little brother, Jamison, as they bounced around the foster care system but were ultimately separated in 2019.

    Jamison was adopted by Blaine and Jonathon Miller in November 2019, when Harmony had been reunited with her biological father months earlier.

    Blaine told The Sun that even at a young age, Jamison is very aware and keeps asking where Harmony is.

    "We try to shield him from the news, but he saw her picture on a flyer and said, 'That's my Harmony,'" Jonathon said.

    "We brought him to a park, and he was looking for her."

  • Harmony's stepmom was jailed

    Prosecutors have dropped the welfare fraud charges against Harmony's stepmother, Kayla, and replaced them with three other charges, including theft, per court records.

    Kayla has not been identified as a suspect in the disappearance of Harmony, and all charges against her concern alleged theft of food stamps and government benefits.

    The count was dropped because of new information about the benefits provided by the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services, according to the attorney general’s office.

    The new charge maintains that the stepmom of the seven-year-old still accepted food stamp benefits for Harmony while she was missing.

  • Harmony's mom says it's 'no longer a rescue mission'

    Crystal Sorey, Harmony's biological mother, told that the news of today's search has been "rough."

    "I know in my heart this is no longer a rescue mission," the mother reportedly said.

    "They're looking for a body."

  • Adam's brother spoke about the abuse

    Adam's brother, Michael, told police the 31-year-old was physically abusive to Harmony and gave her a black eye.

    A detective then spoke to Adam’s uncle Kevin and asked him about Harmony’s eye injury.

    According to court documents, Kevin said that Adam told him in July 2019 that he [Adam] “bashed her [Harmony] around the house.”

    Adam was allegedly angry at Harmony, who was five years old at the time, because she was supposed to be watching her infant brother, but he started crying, which enraged the father.

    The uncle also said Adam spanked his daughter, forced her to stand in the corner for hours, and ordered her to scrub a toilet with her toothbrush.

  • Time frame of Harmony's disappearance

    According to records by the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families, Harmony was bounced between her mother’s care and DCF for much of her young life.

    The young girl was placed in the custody of her father, Adam, in 2019 when she was roughly five years old.

    Investigators have since narrowed the time frame of Harmony's disappearance to November 28 to December 10, 2019.

    Adam, 31, is being held on charges of felony second-degree assault stemming from an alleged attack against Harmony in 2019.

    He has not been charged with the child's disappearance, but he is facing a misdemeanor charge of interference with custody and two misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

  • Harmony's mother reported her missing

    Harmony's biological mom Crystal Sorey reported her daughter missing two years after she was last seen.

    She also alleged that Adam Montgomery was "violent" and strangled her while she was pregnant with Harmony.

    Crystal last saw her daughter on Facetime in 2019 and claimed she spent months trying to report Harmony's disappearance.

    In January, the mother told : “Hi, baby. If you can see me and hear me, I want you to know that I never stopped looking for you and I won't stop fighting until I find you, okay.”

    Harmony was not in the care of Crystal at the time of her disappearance.

  • Adam Montgomery allegedly abused his daughter

    Harmony's father was accused of assaulting Harmony shortly before her disappearance and also faces misdemeanor charges of interference with custody and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

    The father has a violent past and allegedly "bashed (Harmony) around the house," forced her to scrub the toilet with her toothbrush and stand in the corner for hours during a drug relapse, according to a probable cause affidavit.

  • Harmony and Jamison were 'inseparable' in foster care

    The brother-sister duo were inseparable while they bounced around the foster care system, and Harmony always looked out for Jamison.

    Jamison's adopted father Blair Miller said on Harmony's birthday that the five-year-old misses his sister.

    "While Jamison may not know the uncertainties surrounding his sister right now, he knows she is loved, missed and hopes these words of love find her," Blair said.

    "Johnathon and I would love to read how you celebrate her today. We will keep all these happy memories to share with Jamison when he's old enough to understand so he can see the good in this world."

  • Family gave update on Harmony's birthday

    Harmony Montgomery's eighth birthday was on June 7, and her five-year-old brother Jamison celebrated with his family by eating cake and letting pink balloons fly into the sky.

    Jamison, his adopted dads Blair and Johnathon Miller, and older brothers haven't given up hope that she's alive and they'll be reunited.

    Blair Miller shared a video of Jamison smiling in front of a cake that read, "Happy Birthday Harmony" in pink icing.

    In the video, Jameson said, "Harmony, I hope you have a good birthday, big sister," and blew her a kiss.

    Then they released eight pink balloons with messages on them telling her how much they love her.

  • A refrigerator has been rolled into the home

    FBI agents have reportedly been seen rolling a refrigerator into the Manchester home linked to Adam Montgomery.

    Footage from  shows FBI agents unloading a fridge and rolling it towards the home - a move that is usually used to "maintain biological evidence, a former  agent exclusively told The Sun.

    "If they found a body or body parts in a freeze, law enforcement would want to maintain the level of decomposition," the former FBI agent said.

    "I have a really creepy feeling about this. it's not good."
