Rapist taxi driver flees UK for Syria mid-way through his trial – after the courts allowed him to keep his passport

A RAPIST taxi driver fled the UK halfway through his trial after being allowed to keep his passport.
Syrian Sultan Amari, 46, boarded a flight to Turkey and is now thought to be in Syria.
Amari last attended Warrington crown court on September 23 and last weekend sent an email saying he would not be returning.
He was sentenced in his absence to 11 years in jail for two rapes of a student at a house he owned in Chester last year.
The court heard the victim could not recall anything between leaving a bar and waking up naked in a strange house where Amari raped her twice in eight hours.
