Car fire on M5 southbound in Somerset causes travel chaos as queues stretch for miles

A HUGE care fire led to traffic chaos on the M5 in Somerset on Friday evening.
Dramatic footage capturing the moment smoke billows from the blaze.
Reports suggest no one has been hurt by the fire - which was put out at around 8:30pm.
Traffic has begun moving again but the incident has led to gridlock for miles along the southbound carriageway.
Lanes one and two of the three-lane motorway were closed.
A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire Service told Somerset Live that two crews attended the blaze, which started just before 7pm.
Police and a team from Highways England were also present to instruct traffic.
It comes after two people were injured on the northbound M5 this morning in a four-car crash.
The incident occurred just before midday between junctions 23 and 24 near Bridgewater.
