Baby’s shock cause of death revealed after two-month-old found dead in hotel room and mum is arrested

A MOTHER has been arrested and charged with the death of her two-month old baby in a Mississippi hotel just days after she regained custody of the child.

Police in Clinton, Hinds County, were called Tuesday (June 21) morning at the Econo Lodge Hotel on Clinton Center Drive, where the child was found dead.

The tragic incident came after Luke was also charged with misdemeanour child abuse on June 7 for another incident.

“Between June 7 and June 21, the Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services returned the children to its custody,” Amanda Jones, a spokeswoman for the City of Clinton, said in a statement.

The Hinds County coroner said he believes the baby may have died of asphyxiation, possibly as a result of co-sleeping.
