CHANNEL 4’s newest documentary explores the strange murders of four people in the French Alps.

The Al-Hilli family were killed in 2012 but the murder has never been caught, Murder in the Alps will explore the evidence and suspects.

How many episodes of Murder in the Alps are there?

Murder in the Alps is split into three parts to examine all the lines of inquiry considered by the authorities.

Each episode will air nightly on Channel 4 at 9pm starting on Sunday, June 26.

Brother of murder victim Saad al-Hilli, Zaid al-Hilli will front the show with the help from retired detectives.

Each episode will be available on All4 to catch up with after the episode airs.

What is the Channel 4 documentary about?

On September 5, 2012, the Al-Hilli family, along with a cyclist called Sylvian Mollier, were murdered in a lay-by in the French Alps.

Saad al-Hilli, 50, and his wife Iqbal, 47, were shot twice in the head while sat in their BMW car.

Mother-in-law Suhaila al-Allaf, 74, was also executed in the same manner but daughters Zeena, then seven, and Zainab, then four, both survived.

Sylvian was shot seven times a short way from the al-Hilli car, one theory is that he was the primary target and the family just witnesses.

The truth surrounding the incident is unknown, all the young girls could remember was a lone motorcyclist carrying out the attack, which another witness corroborated.

Channel 4 describe the documentary as “the true crime tale of the killing of a British family in the French Alps.”
