The lads-only event later this month will feature “a comedian, strippers, waitresses and food.”

Club bosses insist punters will not be allowed to touch the performers.

But a poster promoting the event at Horwich Conservative Club in Bolton has caused a furious backlash online.

One woman tweeted: “You couldn’t make it up.”

Local Labour councillor Stephen Pickup said: “I’m sure the vast majority of residents would join me in condemning this event.”

Promoter Simon Denton insisted that the night is appropriate, despite the Tory Party being led by Theresa May.
