THIS is the shocking moment a van spins out of control on the M4 motorway - missing a passing car by inches.

The terrifying dashcam video shows the van skid off towards the side of the busy motorway, before swerving in front of oncoming traffic.

Heavy rain hammers the ground as the van loses control while travelling in the middle lane.

Heart-stopping footage shows the van veer over to the hard shoulder, before quickly swerving in front of the oncoming traffic.

The van skids on the busy road's wet surface before spinning twice and stopping directly in front of the filming car.

Thankfully the car taking the dashcam footage pulls out into the middle lane just in time - avoiding a potentially fatal crash.

The video was filmed on the westbound approach to Junction 38 on September 29.
