He was preparing to get stuck into a physical science class at 9.30am when something went terribly wrong.

"I felt this crazy, hot burning in my leg," .

"Right as class was starting, my phone started smoking in my pocket. It was a fire.

""It was super hot so I flinched, grabbed it, threw it on the ground. Had to kick it because it was on fire."

However, the student did give one clue about why the phone went pop.

He added: "I've had it for about six months. The only thing that was wrong with it was a simple crack, but I don't see a simple crack causing it to blow up in my pocket."

Mobile phone batteries are dangerous if they have sustained damage.

So if you spot any significant crack in your blower, we'd advise you to get down the repair shop pronto.
