When they realised at 2am the slipway was cut off they drove to a corner by the 4ft sea wall where the tide did not quite reach.

This car was trapped in this position on a Lincolnshire beach after its horny occupants were too busy romping to notice the tide come in

Council workers arrived at 7am to tow their black Vauxhall Astra to safety as a watching crowd grew.

But the lovers decided to wait for five more hours until the slipway was clear of water to drive away.

They had to drive the car into the corner at 2am when they couldn't leave the beach any more
After a long night out they couldn't wait to get home and decided to romp on the beach instead - and were stuck there until the council rescued them at 7am

It is believed the couple had headed to the beach in Cleethorpes, Lincs, after a night out on the town.

Dad-of-two Nick Cowdroy, 53, spotted them while flying a drone at the beach on Sunday morning.

He said: “A couple of council blokes were trying to work out what to do for the best.

“They said the couple had driven down on to the beach at 2am and were getting up to you-know-what.

“The windows had steamed up and before they knew it they were surrounded by the North Sea.”
