Officials responded to Ivana's Manhattan apartment on Thursday after a 911 call where they found she passed away after going into cardiac arrest, the FDNY told The US Sun.

Ivana has sparked controversy in the past when she said that she never called the White House because "Melania is there."

"And I don't want to cause any kind of jealousy or something like that, because I'm basically first Trump wife. OK? I'm first lady," she told in 2017.

Ivana made the comments while she was on a press tour to promote her memoir, Raising Trump.

A spokesperson for Melania slammed Ivana after the interview saying the White House's first lady "plans to use her title and role to help children, not sell books.

"There is clearly no substance to this statement from an ex. Unfortunately only attention-seeking and self-serving noise."

While Melania said she was "honored" by her role as First Lady, Ivana retorted: "I would hate Washington."

"I think for her to be in Washington must be terrible," Ivana said.

"It's better her than me."

The Don's first wife also critically described Melania as "very quiet" when she analyzed her performance as First Lady.

"She's very quiet, and she really doesn't go to too many places," she said in an .

"She goes to stuff when she has to."

Ivana, who created several successful lifestyle brands after her and Donald's infamous divorce, proclaimed that she could easily slip into the White House role if she had to.

"Would I straighten up the White House in 14 days? Absolutely," she said.

"Can I read a contract? Can I negotiate? Can I entertain? Absolutely.

"But I would not really like to be there. I like my freedom."

Ivana Zelníčková married Donald Trump in 1977, and the couple divorced in 1992.

Their troubled marriage and divorce became the subject of worldwide public interest after Trump's affair with Marla Maples became public, and their split was finalized in 1992.

Ivana was the mother of the eldest three Trump children, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric.

At the time of the couple's divorce, Ivana raked in a settlement package of $14million.

She also got the use of Mar-a-Lago for a month each year, an apartment in Trump Tower, and the couple's Connecticut mansion.

Following the divorce, Ivana developed her own lines of clothing, jewelry, and beauty products.

She married four times throughout her life, once before Trump and two times after.

Former President Trump announced the death of his first wife on his social media platform, Truth Social.

He wrote, "I am very saddened to inform all of those that loved her, of which there are many, that Ivana Trump has passed away at her home in New York City.

"She was a wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman, who led a great and inspirational life," he continued.
