THE fat cat chief executive of Centrica lives in a £2.7 million mansion and also bought the £1.3 million house next door.
Iain Conn’s main home boasts seven bedrooms and a £100,000 pool he had built in the garden which costs thousands to run.
Buyers of similar pools are warned on the website of installers Origin Leisure: “It’s also important to consider the ongoing running costs for energy, maintenance and chemicals.”
Mr Conn, who earns £3 million a year, lists “tinkering with old cars” among his hobbies.

He owns a classic 1967 Mark 2 Jaguar just like the one in TV’s Inspector Morse.
The motor is worth up to £50,000 and is housed in a double garage he had specially built.
The planning application cited how it needed “protection from leaf debris and bird droppings.”
He and his wife rent out the house with four bathrooms next door in Chalfont St Peter, Bucks.
They added an extension and boosted the number of bedrooms to six.
