The girl was found on Nur Plaza beach near Aktau, Kazakhstan after going missing while out shopping with her grandmother.

She told Russian news website Lada the girl was running in and out of a shop in the city's fourth district when she saw someone grab her and run off, reports.

She was missing for around two and a half hours before she was found unconscious on the beach having been raped.

She suffered severe internal bleeding and was left for dead.

Dr Altynshash Dzhaksybaeva said: "Her condition is very critical.

"Due to the events that happened to the girl, her brain received no oxygen for a rather long period of time, causing damage to it."

She is being moved to the National Research Centre of Motherhood and Childhood in the city of Astana where there are attempts to get a team of doctors from India flown out to treat her.

Her grandmother said: "Currently we are waiting for the doctors from India.

"Soon we will know if they will come or not."
