THE terrifying moment a suspect creeps up behind his victim before he knifes him has been revealed.

In a cold-blooded attack, the suspect took a knife to his defenceless victim's back amongst a crowd of pub-goers, with no motive yet known.

In the video, a man can be seen casually walking behind the victim before stabbing him several times in the back while crowds chat around them.

Cops released stills of the attacker, while the footage was released on social media.

The Sun has chosen not to show the full footage of the attack.

Emergency services had been called to the Fatling Hornchurch pub, in Havering, East London shortly after midnight on 23 July after cops on patrol were alerted to the stabbing.

The unnamed victim, 23, was rushed to hospital and remains in a serious but stable condition.

The Met have launched an appeal to find the attacker.

According to their statement, officers "called for support from the London Ambulance Service and provided first aid to the man, who had suffered a number of stab wounds.

"His next of kin have been informed."

Along with the footage, which was shared widely on social media, detectives have released several still images of the man who carried out the crime.

Detective Seargent Joe Seals said: "We have been carrying out a number of urgent enquiries to track down the person responsible and we are now in a position to release an image of a man we need to identify."

"I would encourage anyone who recognises this man, or any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police, to contact us immediately."

In a Facebook post, the pub said: "Sadly last night we had an incident here at the Fatling outside the pub."

"Thankfully due to the speedy actions of the staff members and our medically trained door team the incident was dealt with promptly and we are pleased to say the victim is well and recovering."
