Fire crews rushed to the scene at Wardspring Farm after the inferno took hold at around 4.40am.

They managed to put the roaring flames out, which thankfully did not spread to neighbouring caravans at the glamping site.

Suffolk Police said fire crews, the ambulance service and cops attended the scene after being alerted to the fire.

The mum, who has not yet been identified, sadly died in the blaze. The conditions of the other victims have not yet been disclosed.

The family, said to hail from Surrey, were reportedly holidaying at the caravan site before the tragedy.

Police officers are supporting the victim's next of kin as Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service, East Suffolk Council and Suffolk Police, launched a joint probe into the incident.

The cause of the fire has not yet been revealed.

The Happy Days Retro Vacations site, which describes itself as "the perfect country getaway", has seven fully restored American Airstream caravans.

Guests can rent the old-school motorhomes from £550 a week.

The rural area remains cordoned off by cops, as a staff member said the incident was "still very raw."

Richard Smith, Suffolk county councillor for Blything, revealed the family, from Surrey, had taken the fateful trip to enjoy the weather.

He told the : "I was very sad to hear of this tragic incident.

"I heard the family was in one caravan, but unfortunately one woman was not able to make it out.

"It's a terrible tragedy for a family who had come up to Suffolk to enjoy a holiday in the good weather.

"All my thoughts are with the family, who have lost a wife and mother. I'm sure the fire service operatives did all they could.

'EXTREMELY SAD'

"It is such a tragic story. I want to say how grateful I am for the fire service, who have had a tough job in the last week."

Jeremy Smith, a councillor at Saxmundham Town Council, also expressed his condolences to the family after the tragedy.

He added: "Obviously, it is extremely sad to hear that someone has died. There are not many caravan parks in Saxmundham itself, so it was likely one that was just outside the town.

"From our point of view, in and around Saxmundham is a very safe place to be. It is extremely rare for this sort of thing to happen.

"Our full condolences go to the friends and family of the deceased."

A Suffolk Police statement said: "Fire crews, the Ambulance Service and Police attended a caravan fire at a site near Saxmundham early this morning (24 July).

"One woman died in the blaze and three other people were injured and are in hospital.
