Woman ‘murdered’ hours after cops get call for ‘linked matter’ as man, 27, is arrested and police referred to watchdog
A WOMAN was allegedly murdered AFTER cops were called over a "linked matter" - prompting the force to refer itself to the police watchdog.
A 27-year-old man has been arrested after the unidentified woman was found with fatal injuries in Baildon, West Yorkshire, on Sunday morning.
West Yorkshire Police has alerted the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) over the handling of the incident after it emerged officers had been called over an earlier incident involving the woman.
An ambulance was called to Aire Way around 9:46am over concerns for a woman's safety where she was found injured.
She was taken to hospital but tragically later pronounced dead.
The woman's family has been offered support.

An investigation has been launched by the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team.
Police had received an earlier report of a "linked matter" from a member of the public, a spokesperson said.
Detective Superintendent Emma Winfield, of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, said the force's thoughts are with the victim's family.
She said: “A woman has tragically lost her life and our thoughts are with her family and friends and those who knew her at this truly awful time.

“We are conducting extensive enquiries to understand the circumstances of what has taken place and would urge anyone that can assist us in this investigation to please make contact.”
The suspect remained in police custody on Sunday night.
