Terrifying moment passenger jet’s wings scrape the runway after rocking side to side as it aborts landing attempt in high winds
Pilot aborts first effort to land plane at airport in Prague, Czech Republic, as wings skim the runway surface but manages to bring it down with second try
PASSENGERS were left clutching their seats after their plane scraped along the runway during a landing attempt.
Terrifying footage recorded by aviation enthusiast Radko Našinec shows the Boeing jet in difficulty as it attempts to come down in strong winds.
The heart-stopping clip, from Václav Havel Airport in Prague, Czech Republic, shows the passenger jet wobbling as it comes into land.
The right wing of the plane can be seen dipping down as the wheels hit the tarmac before the pilot rebalances the aircraft and pulls up so they can have another attempt.
However, as the pilot does this, the left wing appears to scrape along the ground before they can get the jet back into the air.
The Boeing 737-430 then attempts to land for a second time and does so successfully despite the gusty conditions.
Radko posted the video on October 4 and so far it has earnt over 450,000 views and 700 likes.
He wrote: “Hard times for the crew and passengers seconds before touchdown on board this Boeing 737-430.”
He added: “Great recovery from the pilots!”
