VLADIMIR Putin is ramping up attacks against civilians as he loses grip on his bloody invasion of Ukraine, according to intelligence chiefs.
The Ministry of Defence released a statement detailing aggressive change in the pattern of missile strikes on .
It is reported that military efforts have increased attacks on civilians in the last week, with the aim to “undermine the morale of the Ukrainian people and government,” the MoD said.
And the head of the Armed Forces, Admiral Sir Anthony Radakin, has claimed the is "failing in military objectives"
Sir Tony continued: “He wanted to subjugate ; that’s not going to happen. He wanted to take control of the capital; we saw that was defeated earlier on. We saw that he wanted to weaken Nato. Nato is now much stronger, and we have and Sweden joining.”

Moscow have warned that the longer it takes to finish the war then the harder it will be to reach a deal.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said: “The longer the process is put off, the harder it'll be to make a deal.”

The IAEA have confirmed that a backup power line to the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant inside Ukraine has been restored.
It is providing the external electricity it needs to cool its reactors, the International Atomic Energy Agency said on Sunday.
The IAEA said on Twitter: “After yesterday’s restoration of [the] power line ... #ZNPP operator this morning shut down its last operating reactor, which over past week had been providing ZNPP w/ required power after it was disconnected from grid."
MoD latest intelligence update
The UK's Ministry of Defence have released their latest intelligence update.
They said: "Over the last 24 hours, Ukrainian forces have continued to make significant gains in the Kharkiv region.
"Russia has likely withdrawn units from the area, but fighting continues around the strategically important cities of Kupiansk and Izium.
"On 07 September 2022, President Putin said that only 60,000 tonnes of the grain exported from Ukraine since August had been sent to developing countries, and that the majority had been delivered to EU states.
"!Putin's claim is not true. According to UN figures, around 30% has been supplied to low and middle-income countries in Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
"Russia is pursuing a deliberate misinformation strategy as it seeks to deflect blame for food insecurity issues, discredit Ukraine and minimise opposition to its invasion."
Russia's invasion reaches its 200 day
It has now been 200 days since Putin began his bloodthirsty invasion of Ukraine.
During that time, the democratic world has come together to condemn Putin's callus invasion.
According to reports, Russia has lost over 50,000 troops in the 200 days since its campaign began, with discontent rife among Russian soldiers.
Final reactor at Europe's largest nuclear power station shut down
Power unit six at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant was shut down completely in the early hours of this morning.
According to Ukraine's national energy operator, Energoatom, the choice was made to transfer the reactor to its "safest state."
“A decision was made to shut down power unit No 6 and transfer it to the safest state – cold shutdown,” it said on Telegram.
This comes as fears of a nuclear disaster continue to rise as fighting rages on around the plant.
Over the last weeks, both Ukraine and Russia have accused each other of damaging the plant.
President Zelensky hails the women fighting in Ukraine
Ukraine’s steadfast President has taken to Twitter to pay tribute to the women fighting in Ukraine.
From his official Twitter account he said: “From the first day of the full-scale invasion, the war is no longer the women’s or men’s business. It is the business of the citizens. 5K Ukrainian women are defending Ukraine on the frontline.”
He then shared a video that highlighted the 50,000 women enrolled in Ukraine’s military and the 5,000 fighting on the frontline.

The British Ministry of Defence's latest update has highlighted Ukraine's progress in Kharkiv.
Russian forces are reportedly retreating from the area, as Zelensky's troops push on.
The report said: "Over the last 24 hours, Ukrainian forces have continued to make significant gains in the Kharkiv region.
"Russia has likely withdrawn units from the area, but fighting continues around the strategically important cities of Kupiansk and Izium."
New iPhone still available to Russians, despite sanctions
The new iPhone 14 will still be available for Russians to purchase, despite the plethora of trading sanctions currently placed on the country, according to a government official.
“If consumers want to buy these phones, you’re welcome. They will have that chance,” Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov told Russia’s RIA Novosti news agency.
This comes despite Apple claiming to have stopped operations in the country.
Ukraine counter continues
Ukraine continues its counteroffensive, as they fight to regain land taken during Putin's brutal invasion.
In a video by the Ukrainian military, liberating troops can be seen raising the Ukrainian flag in several locations, as civilians take to the streets in celebration.
Captioning the video, General Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, said: "It is very difficult for us, but we are moving forward."
Russia Ministry of Defence confirm retreat
The Russian Ministry of Defence has confirmed the retreat of Russian forces from both Izyum and Balakliya.
In a statement published by state media outlet RIA Novosti the Ministry said: "It was decided to regroup the Russian troops stationed in the Balakleya and Izyum regions to step up efforts in the Donetsk direction."
Putin’s replacement could be even worse, expert claims
Three potential frontrunners in the race to succeed Russia‘s president include spy chiefs and a man who has warned of a global war between Russia and the West.
Olga Lautman, Senior Fellow at the Center for European Policy Analysis in Washington DC told The Sun Online: “For every Putin, there are 100 others waiting in the wings who could be just as cruel.
“Until that cruelty against civilians and disregard for human lives is erased, no good leader will emerge in Russia.”
And she argues that Putin’s replacement could be far worse.
Lautman describes one option named Glazyev as a “lunatic”, who has frequently discussed “nuking the whole West”.
She adds that he is “more mentally unstable and fascist than Putin,” and that his belief system comes out of a sense that “the West needs to be destroyed”.
Russia to face 'Nuremberg' style trials for crimes in Ukraine, official claims.
Russia's defence minister has called for a 'Nuremberg' style trial for the Russian top brass, following the invasion of Ukraine.
"I am convinced that the tribunal and the future 'Nuremberg' await them all, even if they are judged in absentia or posthumously," Oleksii Reznikov told RBK Ukraine.
The Nuremberg trials were held by the allies at the end of World War Two and saw top Nazi officials tried for their crimes.

Russian gas giant releases chilling video
Russian gas giant Gazprom has released a chilling video, depicting Europe “freezing to death” without Putin’s gas reserves.
The two-minute video comes just days after it vowed to indefinitely keep natural gas supplies to Europe via the Nord Stream 1 pipeline shut off.
In its eerie video titled “Winter will be big”, the Russian state-controlled natural gas supplier purports to show Europe “freezing over” in an “ice age” after Gazprom turned off its gas flow.
The video shows aerial views of Western Europe’s capitals including Berlin, Paris, and London’s Shard all covered in white snow and freezing fog.
President Zelensky pays tribute to fallen journalists
The President has honoured journalist who have been killed since Putin's brutal invasion of Ukraine began.
“These are reporters, operators, producers, editors, and presenters,” he said.
“They all made a significant contribution to our victory in the media confrontation with Russia, to break through Russian propaganda and spread simply the truth about the war, about our independence.”
He went on to say: “A moment of silence was observed for representatives of the media whose lives were taken by this war.
“As of today, they are 38 people – not only citizens of our country, but also foreigners who came to Ukraine for the truth and died from Russian weapons.”
Russian forces 'taken by surpise' claims British intellegience
Russian forces in Kharkiv were taken by surpise when Ukrainian troops began their counteroffensive, reports claim.
The British MoD said: “Ukrainian forces launched offensive operations in the south of Kharkiv Oblast on 06 September 2022. Lead elements have advanced up to 50km into previously Russian held territory on a narrow front.
“Russian forces were likely taken by surprise. The sector was only lightly held and Ukrainian units have captured or surrounded several towns."
Russian losses mount following successful Ukrainian counteroffensive
Russian losses have surpassed 50,000, as Putin’s bloodthirsty invasion reaches its eighth month.
Specifically, the Ukrainian Armed Forces report that Russia has lost 52,250 soldiers since the war began.
On top of this, reports show Russia has lost 239 planes and 2,136 tanks.
Ukrainian forces reportedly reach city centre of Kupiansk, Kharkiv
According to the Kyiv Independent, Ukrainian forces have reportedly reached the city centre of Kupiansk.
This would be a major breakthrough, as Zelensky's troops continue their counteroffensive in Kharkiv.
