VLADIMIR Putin is ramping up attacks against civilians as he loses grip on his bloody invasion of Ukraine, according to intelligence chiefs.

The Ministry of Defence released a statement detailing aggressive change in the pattern of missile strikes on .

It is reported that military efforts have increased attacks on civilians in the last week, with the aim to “undermine the morale of the Ukrainian people and government,” the MoD said.

And the head of the Armed Forces, Admiral Sir Anthony Radakin, has claimed the is "failing in military objectives"

Sir Tony continued: “He wanted to subjugate ; that’s not going to happen. He wanted to take control of the capital; we saw that was defeated earlier on. We saw that he wanted to weaken Nato. Nato is now much stronger, and we have and Sweden joining.”

    The statement reads: "Ukrainian forces launched offensive operations in the south of Kharkiv Oblast on 06 September 2022. Lead elements have advanced up to 50km into previously Russian held territory on a narrow front.

    "Russian forces were likely taken by surprise. The sector was only lightly held and Ukrainian units have captured or surrounded several towns

    "A Russian force around Izium is likely increasingly isolated. Ukrainian units are now threatening the town of Kupiansk; its capture would be a significant blow to Russia because it sits on supply routes to the Donbas front line.

    "With Ukrainian operations also continuing in Kherson, the Russian defensive front is under pressure on both its northern and southern flanks."

    Norwegian Defense Minister Bjorn Arild Gram reported the package will also include launching pads, guidance units, and night vision devices.

    Norway is just one of several countries sending military, financial, and humanitarian aid to Ukraine, with Britain playing a leading role.

    This comes as fears of a Chornobyl-style disaster continue to grow around Europe.

    Two Ukrainian workers at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant have reportedly been beaten to death by Russian troops.

    According to the president of Ukraine’s nuclear energy agency, around 200 workers are currently under Russian occupation at the plant.

    Many of these workers have been subject to torture, the report claims.

  • Russians flee

    Reports are now emerging of Russian troops fleeing in the manner of their humiliating defeat around the Ukrainian capital Kyiv in spring.

    “Yesterday evening, Russians put a white flag nearby the railway station,” a Ukrainian officer who participated in the liberation of Izium told the 

    As the Ukrainians advanced, a bloodied and bruised senior Russian officer was seen after being captured.

    The Russian announcement comes hours after Ukrainian troops captured the city of Kupiansk further north, the sole railway hub supplying Russia's entire frontline across northeastern Ukraine.

  • Zelensky has spoken with Macron

    Zelensky has confirmed he has spoken with French President Emmanuel Macron over the phone about the situation at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant.

    He said: "I talked with Emmanuel Macron by phone. I briefed him on the course of hostilities.

    "I raised the issue of banning visas for Russians. Much time was given to the crisis at Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant.

    "Our position is the only way to protect Europe from a nuclear disaster is to demilitarize the plant."

  • Ukraine counter continues

    Ukraine continues its counteroffensive, as they fight to regain land taken during Putin's brutal invasion.

    In a video by the Ukrainian military, liberating troops can be seen raising the Ukrainian flag in several locations, as civilians take to the streets in celebration.

    Captioning the video, General Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, said: "It is very difficult for us, but we are moving forward."

  • 'Balakliya has been liberated'

    The town of Balakliya, in the Kharkiv region has been liberated by Ukrainian forces, according to officials.

    According to the Ministry of Defence, the Commander of Ukrainian Land Forces, Colonel General Oleksandr Syrskyi is leading the Ukrainian offensive in this sector.

  • Russia Ministry of Defence confirm retreat

    The Russian Ministry of Defence has confirmed the retreat of Russian forces from both Izyum and Balakliya.

    In a statement published by state media outlet RIA Novosti the Ministry said: "It was decided to regroup the Russian troops stationed in the Balakleya and Izyum regions to step up efforts in the Donetsk direction."

    According to Ukrainian officials forces have entered the key eastern town of Kupiansk.

    Kupiansk has been under control by Russian forces recently and is a vital supply hub for Russian forces.

    Ukrainian special forces posted photos to social media which they said showed their officers in the town.

  • Putin’s replacement could be even worse, expert claims

    Three potential frontrunners in the race to succeed Russia‘s president include spy chiefs and a man who has warned of a global war between Russia and the West.

    Olga Lautman, Senior Fellow at the Center for European Policy Analysis in Washington DC told The Sun Online: “For every Putin, there are 100 others waiting in the wings who could be just as cruel.

    “Until that cruelty against civilians and disregard for human lives is erased, no good leader will emerge in Russia.”

    And she argues that Putin’s replacement could be far worse.

    Lautman describes one option named Glazyev as a “lunatic”, who has frequently discussed “nuking the whole West”.

    She adds that he is “more mentally unstable and fascist than Putin,” and that his belief system comes out of a sense that “the West needs to be destroyed”.

    Russia's defence minister has called for a 'Nuremberg' style trial for the Russian top brass, following the invasion of Ukraine.

    "I am convinced that the tribunal and the future 'Nuremberg' await them all, even if they are judged in absentia or posthumously," Oleksii Reznikov told RBK Ukraine.

    The Nuremberg trials were held by the allies at the end of World War Two and saw top Nazi officials tried for their crimes.

  • President Zelensky hails the women fighting in Ukraine

    Ukraine's steadfast President has taken to Twitter to pay tribute to the women fighting in Ukraine.

    From his official Twitter account he said: "From the first day of the full-scale invasion, the war is no longer the women's or men's business. It is the business of the citizens. 5K Ukrainian women are defending Ukraine on the frontline."

    He then shared a video that highlighted the 50,000 women enrolled in Ukraine's military and the 5,000 fighting on the frontline.

  • Russian gas giant releases chilling video

    Russian gas giant Gazprom has released a chilling video, depicting Europe “freezing to death” without Putin’s gas reserves.

    The two-minute video comes just days after it vowed to indefinitely keep natural gas supplies to Europe via the Nord Stream 1 pipeline shut off.

    In its eerie video titled “Winter will be big”, the Russian state-controlled natural gas supplier purports to show Europe “freezing over” in an “ice age” after Gazprom turned off its gas flow.

    The video shows aerial views of Western Europe’s capitals including Berlin, Paris, and London’s Shard all covered in white snow and freezing fog.

  • President Zelensky pays tribute to fallen journalists

    The President has honoured journalist who have been killed since Putin's brutal invasion of Ukraine began.

    “These are reporters, operators, producers, editors, and presenters,” he said.

    “They all made a significant contribution to our victory in the media confrontation with Russia, to break through Russian propaganda and spread simply the truth about the war, about our independence.”

    He went on to say: “A moment of silence was observed for representatives of the media whose lives were taken by this war.

    “As of today, they are 38 people – not only citizens of our country, but also foreigners who came to Ukraine for the truth and died from Russian weapons.”

  • Russian losses mount following successful Ukrainian counteroffensive

    Russian losses have surpassed 50,000, as Putin’s bloodthirsty invasion reaches its eighth month.

    Specifically, the Ukrainian Armed Forces report that Russia has lost 52,250 soldiers since the war began.

    On top of this, reports show Russia has lost 239 planes and 2,136 tanks.

  • Poland, Baltic states to limit Russian travel in the coming weeks

    Beginning September 19, Poland and the Baltic states will limit the entry of Russian tourists.

    These plans were confirmed by Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas.

    In action, this will see Russian tourists having to go through long and expensive routes to enter these countries.

  • What did Her Majesty have to say about Russia’s Vladimir Putin?

    The Queen met Vladimir Putin at Buckingham Palace when he made a state visit to the UK in 2003.

    He made the Queen wait for 14 minutes for him to arrive at the Palace – which prompted the Her Majesty to have a subtle dig at him later.

    According to then-Home Secretary David Blunkett, his guide dog reacted defensively towards Putin in the course of the visit.

    “The only time I met Vladimir Putin was back in 2003 on an official visit and my then dog barked very loudly,” he told the BBC.

    “I did apologise to the Queen who was obviously hosting. I don’t think I am giving anything away when I said, ‘Sorry your Majesty about the dog barking.’

    She said, ‘Dogs have interesting instincts, don’t they?’”
