After the second presidential debate, viewers had one thing on their mind - Kenneth Bone
THERE was only one person who won the hearts of millions of viewers who tuned in to watch last night's second US presidential debate - and it wasn't Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump.
Meet Kenneth Bone, the undecided voter who was sitting in the audience and quizzed Trump and Clinton on America's energy policies.
He asked the candidates: "What steps will your energy policy take to meet our energy needs while at the same time remaining environmentally friendly and minimising job layoffs"
But it wasn't his question that turned him into internet stardom on Twitter - it was his striking name, his red jumper, dashing moustache and glasses.
Some viewers compared him to a Al McWhiggin, the evil toy collector from Toy Story 2 while others called for him to run for president.
One parody account wrote: "I'm not the hero you want. I'm the hero you need."
Another account states: "Not all heroes wear capes. Some wear snazzy red sweaters,' reads one of the account's tweets."
While some Twitter users said they might go as Kenneth Bone for Halloween others thought he was the real winner of the debate - which was not hard as Clinton and Trump contentiously went at each other - even refusing to shake hands at the onset.
In a debate filled with tension, Donald Trump accused Hillary Clinton of attacking women involved in her husband’s marital affairs and declared she would “be in jail” if he were president.
The highly combative debate began with the presidential hopefuls refusing to shake hands – but did end with a handshake following a final debate question which saw the pair identify traits they admire in one another.
The rest of the debate was considerably more ill-tempered, however, with Clinton taking Trump to task on his lewd comments about women, tax records, and questions over his links to Russia.
Trump responded with personal attacks, bringing her husband, former president Bill Clinton, into the debate and slamming Hillary over her treatment of highly sensitive emails.
