24 suspected illegal immigrants are discovered in the back of a freezer lorry on the M25
They are thought to have been found this afternoon near Chertsey, it is not known where they have travelled from
A GROUP of people, suspected of being illegal immigrants, have been found in the back of a freezer lorry at a junction on the M25.
The 24 people were found this afternoon at junction 11 - the exit for Woking and Chertsey in Surrey.
The in the lorry, and the vehicle was escorted to Addlestone Fire Station where the group was assessed by medics.
One person was taken to hospital.
This is the second time in a week desperate people attempting to get into the UK have been discovered in lorries.
Last week the driver of a lorry containing Aunt Bessie's potatoes heard banging and pulled in to Clacket Lane Services on the motorway to find 15 people crammed into the back.
After they were found, 11 men were arrested by police on suspicion of entering the UK illegally.
These 11 include five who said they are minors.
Surrey Police shut down the main slip road into the petrol station with the group detained on suspicion of illegal entry.
Surrey Police have been contacted for a statement.
