A jaw-dropping video showing a 'bride' getting groped by Chinese men and women for money has emerged online.

The laughing revellers are seen handing over notes and posing for photos cupping the woman's ample bosom.

At one point the bride pushes the head of one grinning man into her cleavage.

When it was posted the video description said it showed a Chinese bride letting wedding guests fondle her bosom in exchange for cash towards her honeymoon.

The Chinese have a tradition called 'nao dongfang' where the bride and groom are forced to endure practical jokes throughout their wedding reception.

However, it has since emerged that the video was most likely taken at a ladyboy show in Pattaya, Thailand, and the Chinese revellers are actually tourists sampling the resort's nightlife.

In the background there are poles for dancing and other performers dressed in elaborate cabaret costumes.

One commenter wrote: "It's not a wedding! It's ladyboy/cabaret show. If you watch closer on background you can tell its not a wedding... come on!"

Another pointed out that Chinese weddings are actually much more conservative than this.

He wrote: "Nao dongfang is nothing like this. How would I know? I'm Chinese.

"There are pranks but they are of the vanilla variety. Sexuality in public and at important events are extremely taboo, especially given that elders, friends and relatives are in attendance."

In 2014, 4.6 million Chinese tourists visited Thailand.
