Boy, 10, left with life-changing injuries after car ploughs into five pedestrians as driver, 72, arrested
A SCHOOLBOY has been left with life-changing injuries after a car ploughed into him and five others at a memorial service.
The 10-year-old, another child, and three others were rushed to hospital after the car mowed them down, then crashed into a tree, in Wandsworth on Sunday evening.
The 10-year-old was seriously injured, and remains in hospital undergoing treatment for his "life-changing injuries".
The group were in a private car park at a memorial service on Cabul Road, Wandsworth, around 7.30pm when the horror unfolded.
A 72-year-old driver was arrested at the scene on suspicion of motoring offences, including causing serious injury.
The man was bailed until Mid-September, while detectives from the Roads and Transport Policing Command make further inquiries.
Detectives today released the information on the crash as they are calling for witnesses.
Detective Constable Benjamin Simpson, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: ‘’This is a very sad incident in which multiple pedestrians were injured in a private car park at a memorial service.
