Brit toddler killed on holiday ‘had got out of bed and wandered out of home as parents thought he was asleep’
A BRITISH toddler has died on holiday after allegedly waking up and wandering out of the house alone while his parents thought he was asleep.
The 21-month-old boy was killed by a car near the village of Ballinagare in Ireland's County Roscommon.
He was hit by a jeep shortly after 9am yesterday while his parents slept unaware, a source told the Irish Daily Mail.
The tot's parents are understood to have been holidaying in Ireland from the UK and staying with family members when the tragedy occurred.
The toddler apparently left his bed and wandered out of the house on his own while his parents were still asleep.
According to sources, the collision happened when a motorist failed to see the little boy as he drove into the local area.

The driver immediately alerted the nearby house when he understood what had happened, it was reported.
They rapidly realised their son was missing from his bed and not in the house.
Emergency services rushed to the scene to treat the little one, but sadly he could not be saved.
Despite their best efforts, the one-year-old was later pronounced dead.
Gardaí are now investigating the incident but have confirmed that no foul play is suspected.
No other injuries were reported in the collision either.
Forensic investigators carried out a technical examination of the crash scene yesterday and a a Gardaí liaison officer has been appointed to support the family, according to .
Officers are now appealing for witnesses to come forward - especially road users who were in the area at the time and may have dash cam footage.
A spokesperson said yesterday: "Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a fatal road traffic collision near Ballinagare in Co. Roscommon this morning, Friday 19th August 2022.
"The collision occurred shortly after 9am when a jeep collided with a male infant.
"The infant received treatment at the scene but was later pronounced deceased.
"His body was then taken to the mortuary at University Hospital Galway where a post-mortem will take place.
"No other injuries were reported.
"A technical examination of the scene by Forensic Collision Investigators has since been completed and a family liaison officer has been appointed to support the family at this time.
