AN IDIOT clown prankster was left with a REAL red nose -- after one of his victims lamped him in the face.

Wannabe YouTube star Ashley Symes decided to join in with the 'creepy clown' craze by filming himself purposely targeting young members of the public to scare.

But he got more than he bargained for when instead of running a man turned and punched him.

The vlogger, who creates videos under the name KickItWithAsh, said he wanted to "jump on the hype" after scores of clown sightings in the UK.

"I'm waiting for it to get dark. People are going crazy being scared of clowns so fingers crossed it goes well", the 23-year-old says in the film.

Ex on the Beach star Youssef Hassane recorded the night of terror as his friend Symes chased unsuspecting people in the street.

But one victim at an underground car park in Chatham, Kent was less than impressed by his antics and can be seen quickly landing a punch to his face.

Hassane then runs out from his hiding place screaming: "It's a prank! It's a prank!"

The video cuts to Symes -- who has nearly 5,000 subscribers to his YouTube channel -- holding his nose in pain.

Hassane can then be heard saying: “That’s what happens when you scare people bruv, you get battered.”

Ash, from Sittingbourne, Kent said: “Me and my friend had watched a few American prank videos.

"And thought we would do one here. We think we’re the first ones to post a video.

“We were a bit worried about the reaction, but it was controlled, rather than just scaring as many people as we could.

“We targeted young victims.

“And after we caught up with them to tell them it was a prank. Most people were fine; they all seemed to enjoy it.

“The guy who hit me felt bad – he just didn’t realise it was a prank.”

But comments under the video -- which has been watched over 4,000 times since it was uploaded on Monday -- agree that Symes deserved to be punched.

One read: "Shame he didn't knock you out. I would have loved to see that”.

Another viewer wrote: “You don't need to dress like a clown to be a clown. Pack it in. One day someone will end up in hospital. Grow up.”

The scary clown craze has swept the country after starting in America.

Police forces around the UK have issued warnings to those thinking of dressing as clowns that they risk arrest and prosecution under public order offences.

Cmdr Julian Bennett, from the Metropolitan Police, said: "We are currently accessing a small number of reported 'Killer Clown' incidents in London, three of which meet the threshold of a criminal offence.

"Our primary responsibility is identifying and investigating those incidents where a criminal offence has occurred.

"However, anti-social behaviour can leave people feeling scared, anxious and intimidated and I would urge those who are causing fear and alarm to carefully consider the impact their actions have on others.

"Whilst we do not want to stop people from enjoying themselves it is important that while having fun they remember to act in a responsible manor and understand that they could be prosecuted if a criminal offence is committed."
