Woman, 69, arrested for murder after man in his 70s ‘stabbed to death’ at farm in quaint village

A WOMAN has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the fatal stabbing of a pensioner.

Police and paramedics were called to an address in the village of Braunton in north Devon at about 2.35pm on Sunday.

A man in his 70s was found suffering with knife wounds and he later died at the scene.

A 69-year-old woman has since been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Devon and Cornwall Police said she remains in custody.

Officers remain at the scene and are continuing to investigate.

Braunton sits close to a stretch of coastline dubbed "surfer's paradise" thanks to its golden sands and world class waves.

It is also part of the first place in the UK to be selected as a World Surfing Reserve, joining Malibu and Santa Cruz in California, and the Gold Coast and Manly in Australia earlier this year.
