Braverman should fire the civil servants blowing public money on woke nonsense
Sack wasters
ONE minute the Attorney General demands that her civil servants stop blowing public money on woke nonsense.
The next they set up a £500-a-head conference to give executives the “tools for building a more inclusive, healthier and sustainable Queer Future”.
Suella Braverman is “supremely disappointed” that her staff “continue to indulge in divisive diversity training at taxpayers’ expense”.
Why doesn’t she fire a few for openly disobeying her?
If she can’t, is it any wonder civil servants hold Tory ministers, their authority and policies in contempt?
News for Emily
EMILY Maitlis has a glittering future in comedy now she’s left the BBC.
Her speech about the corporation’s failings was highly revealing and hilarious, if unintentionally on both counts.
She is horrified a Tory sits on the BBC board. She is aghast she was made to present both sides of the Brexit debate.
Why? Because liberal-left Remainers don’t consider their views mere beliefs and preferences.
They think they are unassailable, provable truth. They are shocked and angry if anyone disagrees.
They conclude Tories and Brexiteers must be wicked and/or dim and denied a platform, let alone positions of influence.
This conviction utterly dominates the BBC.
Its journalists mock or ignore views held by a majority of voters — meaning millions are forced by law to fund a broadcaster that loathes them.
That racket must end.
Argument sunk
WITH thousands of Albanians now pouring illegally into Britain from the Channel, how long can the Left sustain its absurd claim that small-boat migrants are “refugees”?
These young men have left a peaceful if poor country. At Dunkirk they shun all help from refugee charities, pay for hotels and have enough cash to jump the queue into the traffickers’ boats.
They are economic migrants with no right to live here. Some are criminals.
We welcome Home Secretary Priti Patel striking a deal with Albania to fly the lot back home as early as next week.
But who would bet against her being foiled by the same left-wing lawyers who got the Rwanda deterrent halted?
They are, after all, hell-bent on only one thing: Not human rights. Thwarting Tories.
Top class, kids

For all the depressing lockdowns and dubious Zoom lessons they endured, the marks from their first ever meaningful exams are better than before Covid.
Now that really is a result.
