Thousands of revellers attended the festival and left mountains of waste behind on Monday.

Headline acts Dave, Artic Monkeys and The 1975 drew huge crowds, as many young people let loose in celebration of exam results.

Online commenters were outraged by the mess and many wondered who was left to clean it up.

It comes after the festival's final night was overshadowed by attendees burning tents and a number of fights breaking out.

The chaos was so bad that armed police were forced to swoop in and were filmed making arrests.

Similar footage last year provoked outrage.

However, it seems that festivalgoers have not learnt their lesson and continue to leave behind vast amounts of tat.

Reports from 2021 said that beer cans, drugs, and broken false teeth were all included in the mess.

The majority of the waste will have to be taken to a landfill site.

The festival concluded last night and reported high levels of attendance, with music-mad Brits not put off by the late pullout of Rage Against the Machine and Eurovision winners Maneskin.
