Man in his 20s dies after stabbing in Berkshire town, as cops launch urgent hunt for attacker

POLICE have launched a murder investigation following the death of a 20-year-old man yesterday.

The victim suffered “serious injuries” at a residential road in Slough, Berkshire, but he could not be saved.

Officers were called to the suburban street at around 1.45pm yesterday where they found the young man injured.

He was rushed to hospital where he passed away later on despite medics’ best efforts.

Now Thames Valley Police’s Major Crime Unit have launched a murder investigation following the incident.

Three men have already been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in police custody.

Senior investigating officer Detective Chief Inspector Dejan Avramovic, of the Major Crime Unit, said: “We have launched a murder investigation after the death of a man following an incident in Keel Drive, Slough.

“The victim’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers. Our thoughts are with them at this most difficult time.

“We are in the very early stages of this complex investigation, but we are not looking for anyone else and we believe there is no wider risk to the public.

“We would ask anyone with information which might help us to please call 101 or make a report online, quoting reference 43220384949.”

Superintendent Lee Barnham, Local Policing Area Commander for Slough said: “A scenewatch is likely to be in place for a number of days, which will have an impact on local residents, who I would like to thank for their patience while we carry out our enquiries.

“Members of the public are likely to see an increased police presence in the area while we continue to investigate and we would advise anyone with any concerns to please speak to one of our uniformed officers.”
