THIS IS the shocking moment a shirtless jogger is alleged to have killed a father-of-seven with a single punch - before running back to TAUNT his victim.

The CCTV footage shows the two men "crossing paths" in a Brisbane street moments before 48-year-old Timothy Lang was struck down by a single devastating blow to the head.

In the video, , the jogger appears to walk away after the alleged attack before returning to point and shout at the stricken victim.

Shocked passsers-by can later be seen crowding around the crumpled body of Mr Lang, who died in Princess Alexandra Hospital two days after the alleged assault on Saturday morning.

Wayne Andrew Hearn, 38, appeared in court yesterday charged with unlawful striking causing death, following his arrest on Tuesday.

Before being led out of the prisoner’s dock, he smiled and made gestures to the public gallery.

The accused man was later spotted laughing in the back seat of a police car and flashing a smirk at the cameras as he left court.

In the build-up to the alleged assault in Melbourne Street there was an "exchange of words" between Mr Lang and the jogger, who are believed to have known each other, Brisbane police said.

A spokesman said: "The pair have exchanged words in passing and one man has then turned and struck the victim on the head with his fist.

“The 48-year-old man was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition, (where he) later died of his injuries.”

At Mr Hearn's court hearing yesterday, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Legal Service solicitor Lyle Parker asked for the matter to be adjourned to committal call-over, .

Mr Hearn, of Fortitude Valley, is scheduled to reappear at court on 31 October.

Hours after police released a photo of the alleged suspect on Tuesday, detectives ­arrested a man at Redcliffe, north of Brisbane.
