A BAREFOOT climber was arrested yesterday after scaling Britain’s tallest skyscraper without ropes or a safety harness.
Adam Lockwood, 21, scrambled up the side of The Shard with just a bag of chalk dust to aid his grip.
The daredevil then took a topless selfie as he balanced precariously on a narrow metal girder 1,017ft above ground.
Police, paramedics and firefighters rushed to the 95-storey London landmark in a bid to coax him down.
The area near London Bridge, which is popular with sight-seers, was cordoned off to the public in case he fell.
Adam, of Manchester, posted a stomach-churning clip on Instagram to reveal his spectacular view from the top of the building.

He showed his dirty, calloused hands and his satisfied face as he surveyed the landscape, saying: “Yep. Yep.”
The Met Police said they were called just before 6am and a man was arrested on suspicion of trespass.
Two others were detained on suspicion of causing a public nuisance.
Two months ago Adam filmed himself dangling by one hand from the top of a 1,200ft crane in Dubai.

'I love the challenges'
At the time he said: “I love seeing things from height, I love having my body suspended hundreds of metres in the sky, I love the challenges of infiltrating secure places to achieve these goals.”
Adam, who uses the name Nuisance on social media, has 12,800 followers on YouTube.
He refuses to use any safety equipment, relying only on his grip and upper body strength to stop him from falling.
Buildings he has previously climbed include the 1,394ft Marina 101 skyscraper in Dubai and the 1,100ft Plomin power station in Croatia.
Manchester city council gave him a three-year anti-social behaviour order in 2019.
It banned him from climbing buildings and cranes, riding on the outside of buses and trains and entering construction sites. He soon breached the order and narrowly avoided jail.
In 2019, George King-Thompson, 20, was jailed for six months for climbing The Shard.
The building’s owners have a High Court injunction which prohibits anyone from trying to climb it.
