HELL STREET

We live on horror road where thugs dump mountains of rubbish & have SEX against our fences – it’s a nightmare

DISGUSTED homeowners say their street is plagued by fly-tipping, human waste and drug users having sex by their houses.

Furious locals say the council have "given up" on them and allowed the area to be overrun by drug dealers and anti-social behaviour.

Kevin Draper, 59, who cares for his seriously ill wife Kerry, says they have been forced to take taxis to hospital appointments because his car is regularly blocked in by walls of rotting bin bags, carpets and mattresses.

"It happens every day now. Last Friday was particularly bad with it piled up almost as high as the fence," says Kevin.

"There was carpet, furniture, a TV, kids toys and black bags which were crawling with that many maggots you could see them from a distance.

"The place absolutely stank".

He added that almost every night the couple hear people dumping rubbish outside their home.

Kevin has even been threatened with a knife while confronting yobs by his home.

"They told me, ‘We don’t have to f***ing move, do you want some of this?’ and flashed a knife".

Kerry said that her husband has to wash down the back gate every day after drug users urinate on it and have sex against it.

"He has even had to clean up human poo," she says.

Irene Reid, 71, who has lived on the street since 1978 said that things are going from bad to worse.

"You walk past with the little ones and they are dealing their drugs," says Irene, adding that she no longer sits out in her front garden due to the state of the neighbourhood.

"There is usually someone here swapping drugs, spitting, urinating, smoking their wacky backy. They think they can hide here because there are so many ways to go."

It is like the Council have given up.

Despite The Sun Online visiting just after the bin lorries had been for their weekly visit, the area was covered in bits of furniture, duvets, children’s toys and black bin bags with the pavements on neighbouring Hazelwood Road particularly busy with discarded rubbish.

Another resident, Zulekha Khan, 39, lives as a single mother in the area with her three children.

She said: "There is always drug stuff outside and noise when the children are going to bed. It’s not hygienic and all our houses have been hit with eggs on different occasions."

"I am too scared to go to the shops after dark."

One woman, who did not want to be named, said: "It is like the Council have given up. I blame a lot of it on buy to let landlords who buy up these two-up, two-down properties very cheaply and then put too many people in too small a space.
