THEATRE TERROR ALERT

Armed police swoop on high street after reports of screams and gunshots – only to discover it was coming from a theatre show

ARMED cops descended on a theatre production after a terrified local reported hearing screams and gunshots from inside - only to find the noises were from the show itself.

Five vehicles carrying police officers stormed the Colab Theatre in Borough, London, where the audience were enjoying an immersive show in which they were "hunted" by gun-toting "evil agents".

A local resident called the Met Police after hearing disturbing noises from inside last night.

In "Hunted" audience members are split up into two teams of 10 in a "spy adventure like no other".

After cops had attended to the scene they tweeted: "Attended a call to gunshots/people screaming in Long Lane #SE1 last night.

"5 ARV's attended. Turned out to be a show by @CoLab_Theatre.

"Local residents had been informed about their shows but one hadn't read the letter.

"Local police had no idea! 19MD #SE1".

The Colab Theatre's website described the Hunted as an "epic and extreme show", and adds: "

You are one of the most important people in the world and yet you've managed to live a peaceful life. That is because we have been protecting you but now our protection has been compromised.

"You are now being hunted. If you want to find out why - join us.

"Join us in our world of shadows and become the protagonist of your own adventure.

"Are you skilled enough to evade the evil agents of the ETF? Will you be able to escape?

"It all depends on you."
