Azealia Banks claims Russell Crowe called her N-word, choked and spat at her after throwing her out of party… but his pals say the rapper had been hurling insults at guests
Hip hop star is alleged to have started hurling insults because she wasn't happy with the party playlist
RUSSELL Crowe called Azealia Banks the N-word before choking and spitting at her as he bundled her from a dinner party, the controversial rapper has claimed.
Banks made the shocking allegations in a now-deleted Facebook post following a bash hosted by actor Crowe in his Beverly Hills hotel suite on Saturday night.
But eyewitnesses and friends of the Gladiator star rubbished the claims and said he had 'bear-hugged' the 25-year-old out of the room after she threatened to 'cut fellow guests Tarantino-style'.
Banks is believed to have become abusive - labelling guests as "boring white men" - after taking exception to the party's playlist.
And after she is alleged to have threatened a Quentin Tarantino-style bottle rampage, Aussie Crowe scooped her up in a bear hug and kicked her out.
Banks was reportedly a plus one for guest and fellow rapper RZA.
She soon took to Facebook to describe the drama-filled evening, accusing Crowe of choking her and calling her the N-word.
She wrote: "To recap my night, I went to a party at Russell crowe’s suite, at which he called me a n****r, choked me, threw me out and spat at me.
“Last night was one of the hardest nights of sleep I’ve had in a long time.
“The men in the room allowed it to happen. I feel terrible today.’"
It has since been reported that four witnesses gave statements in which her behaviour was described as "erratic".
Banks spokesperson later added: "Azealia is tremendously distraught and disheartened.
"She is shell shocked and will speak out on the incident once she has had time to process the brutality and abuse she was unjustly subjected to."
Crowe and Banks have both earned reputations for volatility in the past.
The Kiwi-born actor, 52, has been accused of becoming involved in a number of brawls.
While Banks was involved in a foul-mouthed rant at One Direction star Zayn Malik earlier this year.
