Ukrainian refugee dumped by Brit dad after affair screamed ‘I love you Tony’ as she begged him to take her back
A UKRANIAN refugee dumped by her Brit boyfriend after their four-month affair screamed “I love you” as she begged him to take her back.
Tony Garnett, 29, walked out on Lorna Garnett – the mum of his two kids – after falling head over heels for 22-year-old Sofiia Karkadym.
Tony and Lorna had welcomed Ukrainian refugee Sofiia into their family home just ten days earlier.
Months after Tony ran off with Sofiia – and following a series of alleged booze-fuelled rows – Tony claims he dumped her.
The dad said he kicked Sofiia out but she returned on Saturday and allegedly began kicking down the door before fleeing from cops and hiding in a bush.
When she was eventually found, Tony claims Sofiia yelled: “Tony, I love you. Please come with me.”
A previous row between them allegedly saw her “ram a knife into the wall in the kitchen several times while she was drunk”.
Tony told : “I feared this might happen, that she would turn up at the house when she had been warned by the police not to.
“She was kicking the front door and shouting and screaming and I tried to talk to her.
“I had to tell her why our relationship was over.”
Sofiia has sent a number of messages since they broke up, saying she loved him and wanted a reconciliation, Tony claims.
The pair had previously stated they wanted to get married.
Sofiia, who fled the city of Lviv at the start of the Ukraine war, previously told The Sun: “As soon as I saw him I fancied him.
“It’s been very quick but this is our love story. I know people will think badly of me but it happens.
“I could see how unhappy Tony was.”
Lorna Garnett, who had changed her surname by deed poll to match Tony’s but is not married to him, said she keeps being asked if she will try to rekindle her relationship with Tony.
I knew it would end in disaster for them — I just didn’t think it would come after only four months.

But she definitively told them: “I wouldn’t have him back in a million years.’’
She added: “I knew it would end in disaster for them — I just didn’t think it would come after only four months.”
Lorna, the mother of his two daughters, told friends that the bust-up between him and Sofiia came as no surprise.
She told them: “He has thrown away so much.
“He can’t see me because of a restraining order and he hasn’t been seeing the children.
“But it’s hard to feel any sympathy.’’
Lorna is unable to speak publicly about her rift with Tony due to court proceedings.
But a friend said: “Lorna has been so hurt by all this but she’s strong and her entire focus has been on the children, they are her whole world now.
“There is no part of her that wants him back, he’s ruined everything.”
The Sun has approached Sofiia for comment.
